Antique Persian Heriz rug with a glorious all-over botanical design featuring large blossom palmettes, abstract dragons, and scorpion motifs. Exemplary natural dyes give the rug a lustrous shimmering glow. Notably, the weaver has given the ground a stunning range of abrashed (variegated) reds that emulate sunrise and sunset. Such a magnificent display of artwork and color in the field leaves the border with a high bar to clear, and this masterful rendition is the perfect complement. As all-over pattern Heriz rugs go, this example is among the best we’ve seen.

Materials: Hand knotted hand spun wool pile on cotton foundation. Natural dyes.
Condition: Good condition overall with soft lustrous low pile and some small scattered areas of wear mainly in one corner. Ready to enjoy and suitable for normal everyday use. Professionally hand washed.
