Large Antique Persian Heriz Serapi Rug 12'4"x17'9" C.1900
Large Antique Persian Heriz Serapi Rug 12'4"x17'9" C.1900
Large Persian Heriz Serapi rug circa 1900 with soft jewel tones, lustrous wool, and a graceful tribal design. The range of subtle colors is magnificent. The ground is cranberry rose red with medallion and corner spandrels in light beige. Design motifs and border feature an array of soft blues, greens, sand, and mushroom. It is clear that all the colors were dyed by a single artisan resulting in a perfectly cohesive theme. Finely woven with the soft, supple, thin handle characteristic of antique Serapi rugs. Connoisseur quality.
