Antique Eagle Kazak Karabagh Caucasian rug sometimes also known as the Chelaberd motif. The design is based on a group of important 17th and 18th century Caucasian carpets with dragon motifs. As time went on the designs became highly stylized with only a suggestion of the originals. Nevertheless, this example is very striking and emboldened with rustic tribal charm.

Origin: Armenian Karabagh, SW Caucasus
Materials: Hand knotted hand spun wool pile on a wool foundation.
Condition: Good condition with fleecy pile over most of the rug. A few small spots of wear. There is one small repair. Ready to enjoy and suitable for normal everyday use. Professionally hand washed.
