Antique Persian Heriz rug with enigmatic tribal artwork and inspirational colors. A strongly abrashed (variegated) background shifts from pale blue to space blue giving the viewer an impression of sky and the cosmos beyond. Unbound by convention, the weaver has created a dramatic floating effect throughout the field and border. So much to discover here. Colors are rust red, various blues from dark to light, jade green, sea green, daffodil yellow, coral pink, salmon, and cream.

Materials: Hand knotted handspun wool pile on a cotton and wool foundation. Natural dyes.

Condition: Good condition with low lustrous pile over most of the rug and a little scattered light wear. Ready to enjoy and suitable for normal everyday use. Professionally hand washed.
