Antique Persian Mahal Sultanabad rug with an exceptional botanical design of stylized blossom palmettes on an interlaced diamond lattice. The skillful placement of the colorful floral elements on the luminous blue background creates an impression of floating in space. Plant and mineral dyes of the highest quality were used to produce clean tones of teal green, jade green, sky blue, French blue, ice blue, goldenrod, sage green, lemon yellow, scarlet, blush, aqua, chestnut, khaki, and cream.
