Antique Farahan Sarouk Rug 9’1”x11’10” Blue Botanical Masterpiece
Antique Farahan Sarouk Rug 9’1”x11’10” Blue Botanical Masterpiece
Rug No. 92436
Antique Persian Farahan Sarouk rug with gracious botanical design in the Art Nouveau - Arts and Crafts style. This finely made rug certainly qualifies as “art for the floor” with the stylized floral forms so popular in the 1880 to 1910 period in Europe and America. The burnished navy ground is set off by pops of chartreuse, fern green, orchid pink, butter yellow, coral, robin egg blue, buff, denim blue, and peach. The masterfully drawn border is a softly glowing rust red. A rare find directly from an estate in Italy.
